Golden Lagoon is a fused glass abstract landscape in the Glasscapes series. I keep going back to this color combination, aquamarine and light green with pinky hues. I added additional glass pieces to the surface including gold glass on edge and small black glass pieces to add texture and interest to the surface. I broke this piece several years ago and it has been sitting in a drawer in my studio since then. I decided to embrace the breaks and mount the pieces on a panel using gold caulk type adhesive between the cracks. This is a homage to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which literally means "golden joinery." Instead of  trying to hide the breakage, Kintsugi highlights the repair.

The glass is adhered to a 6"x24"x2" wood panel and is ready to hang. I added a glass "tattoo" design on the whitewashed side of the panel which mimics the front and adds interest.

As a result of the damage to Golden Lagoon, I have discounted it 50% from the original price of $250 to $125 and include free shipping for this art.

$20 from this purchase will be donated to one of my charities, in your name. Select which charity you would like to support and together we can make the world a more beautiful place!
