Art Shop
No, actually I retired from the Air Force after 20 years as a criminal and counterintelligence officer! A few years before I retired I took a stained glass class and fell in love with glass and working with my hands. After retirement I took up fused glass and bought my first small kiln. When my husband and I moved to San Antonio we added a studio to our garage and I bought a BIGGER kiln! I have been working with glass for over 30 years.
Hmm, that is hard to say. It is my hobby, so I work around the rest of my life. Some days I work all day on my art. Other days, not at all. I used to feel pressure to spend all my free time on my artwork, but then I realized I was putting undue pressure on myself. I am retired after all!!
Over the years I have supported different charities. I finally decided on the four main ones I support thru my artwork sales because they support my local community. I feel that my donations go a lot further when I give locally. Since I have my collectors select which charity they want me to support thru their purchase, I have a variety of options from cancer support, food bank, meals on wheels and a wonderful local animal rescue.
I used to be a big book reader. My parents instilled a love of books in me from a very young age. I now mostly listen to audiobooks and don't sit down with a book in hand any more. So, I listen to audiobooks most of the time, but I also listen to music, especially when I have to concentrate on what I am doing.
I’ve always been active and love sports! Over the years, I’ve played tennis, golf, and now pickleball several times a week. It’s a fun way to stay social and competitive. I also work out with a trainer and enjoy exploring creative vegetarian meals with my husband.
