Counterpoint
Original fused glass art block | Glasscapes Series | 4" x 4" x 2"

Counterpoint brings together bold color, strong linear marks, and layered glass in a compact, architectural composition. Red, white, smoky gray, and black create contrast, while raised pieces of blue, yellow, and red glass add depth and dimension. A long gold line and vertical gold accent connect the design, creating a sense of balance between the different shapes and colors.

Transparent gray glass stands on edge, with its top finished in gold, adding another layer of detail and catching the light from a different angle. A small glass tattoo on the side of the white wood panel echoes the design on the front, extending the composition beyond the main surface. Part of the Glasscapes series, Counterpoint is a small-scale work with plenty of texture, detail, and visual interest. It can be displayed on its own or grouped with other pieces in the series.
